 Who We Are

METAACOG is an independent Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) consultancy, advocacy, and assessment service that supports children, young people, families, and schools.

What We Do

In addition to providing advocacy for families, we carry out educational and access arrangement assessments for students, and  work closely with schools to audit and evaluate SEND provision. We advise on statutory compliance and best practice, and lead the development of genuinely inclusive educational environments.

Supporting Inclusion

Nearly half of all school suspensions in England involve children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

In collaboration with families, community organisations, businesses and local services, we help schools identify effective alternatives to exclusion by designing and delivering bespoke programmes for individual pupils and small groups, both within and beyond the school setting.

We help to ensure students with SEN can succeed at school

Truly Independent Advocacy

We are fully independent. We are not funded by, or accountable to, any local authority or school. Our commitment is to the student and their family, ensuring their needs, voice, and potential remain at the centre of every decision.

Our role is to champion what each young person requires to thrive in education. We work constructively with schools and colleges, supporting them to identify solutions, remove barriers, and create environments where students are included, supported, and able to succeed.

Our focus is not on reducing provision but on enabling the right provision. We believe that when students receive the support they need, everyone benefits — the student, the family, and the school community.

Breaking Down Barriers

Our independent services are here to ensure every child has access to the resources and the rights they deserve - without cost being a barrier. Most of our support is completely free, and where there is a small fee, we keep it as low as possible for families.

Because every child deserves an advocate, not a price tag.
